Amber Hernandez, BA

Department Manager
Behavior Respite in Action

“Every day is a new challenge, a new family, and a new journey—that’s the beauty of it.”

Amber Hernandez is ready for every new challenge, and she knows it takes patient-driven and caring people to work in her field. She is passionate about her role providing support to individuals and families impacted by autism and other developmental disabilities. She explains, “Families and staff have been with us for many years because we are good at what we do — supporting our clients and families from early childhood to adulthood.”

Amber graduated from Whittier College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Policy & Development, a path she self-designed to include her love of education, public policy, political science and child development. She has been working with Behavior Respite in Action since 2015 and became a Program Coordinator in just over a year. Through her hard work and dedication, she’s now the Department Manager overseeing service delivery and mentoring her teammates in our two offices in San Diego and Vista.

Amber’s love language is music, and she enjoys making playlists for friends and family for different moods and events. In her spare time she often volunteers for Relay for Life and runs social media accounts for her brother’s photography/videography business.
