Senator Limon Meeting with Autism Care Providers and Families to Discuss Accessibility of Services for Individuals with Autism

SANTA BARBARA, CA, May 20, 2026 – On April 23, 2026, State Senate President pro Tempore Monique Limon welcomed leaders from 360 Behavioral Health, CenCal Health, and Tri-Counties Regional Center, along with local families, to her district office to share their experiences and perspectives on the current state of autism care.

The group explored challenges and opportunities related to ensuring timely and effective access to essential services. Participants included 360 Behavioral Health CEO, Kate Sheldon Princi, CenCal Health CEO, Marina Owen, and Tri-Counties Regional Center (TCRC) Associate Executive Director, Diva Johnson.

Senator Limon heard personal stories from families whose testimony highlighted the positive impact ABA-based therapy has had on their daily lives. The meeting underscored a shared commitment to improving the system of care for the autism and neurodiverse communities throughout the region.

At the meeting’s conclusion, participants had the chance to tour 360 Behavioral Health’s Santa Barbara autism care center to learn more about the delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based treatment and support available for individuals in the community diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities.

This collaborative meeting, held during Autism Awareness Month, was an important step in fostering ongoing dialogue between policymakers, providers, and the families they serve, with the goal of strengthening the support network for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Daycare vs. Autism Care Centers

Children spend their days playing, eating meals, interacting with peers, following routines, and building skills that prepare them for school. The difference isn’t necessarily what children do during the day—it’s how those experiences are supported.
An ABA-based Early Learner Program, like 360 Behavioral Health’s, is designed to provide many of the same experiences found in a daycare setting while embedding individualized teaching and support throughout the day.
