Early Learner Program (ELP)

Every young child with autism or developmental delays has the potential to learn and grow! Our Early Learner Program (ELP) is a play-based autism therapy program for children under the age of 7. We use ABA (applied behavior analysis) to teach essential skills through play and everyday routines.

ABA-Based Early Intervention

The ELP is an early intervention program for children with autism spectrum disorders. It helps children:

  • Communicate their wants and needs
  • Play and connect with others
  • Get ready for school and group learning

Each child gets one-on-one therapy that’s personalized just for them. We work closely with families to set meaningful goals and check progress often.

Our trained team teaches through play because that’s how young children learn best. Play is at the heart of everything we do. Our methods are based on research and designed to help each child build skills in a way that feels fun and natural.

We want each child to thrive, not just during therapy sessions, but also at home, at school, and in everyday life. Early intervention therapy for autism can help children build skills for a bright future.

Why Early Intervention for Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders Matters

A child’s early years are a crucial time for learning. A young child’s brain grows quickly, making it a great time to learn new skills. Starting therapy early can lead to big improvements in how children talk, play, and take care of themselves. Clients who receive early intervention are more likely to:

  • Do well in school and later in life
  • Communicate more successfully with others
  • Make friends and connect with others
  • Get along well with family
  • Care for their own needs

Early intervention can also reduce the need for extra help later on. Many children even reach the same level as other kids their age on standardized tests. The Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP) gathered research highlighting these outcomes: Evidence about ABA Treatment for Young Children with Autism.

What Does a Typical ELP Session Look Like?

To children, ELP sessions feel like play. While children are having fun, they’re also learning important skills in a safe and supportive setting.

We provide early intervention autism therapy in the child’s home, at one of our welcoming centers, or at a mix of both. In some cases, we can even attend a preschool, school, or day care setting with the child to help them succeed.

We know that families know their child best. That’s why we include parents and caregivers at every step. We provide regular support so caregivers feel confident using strategies at home.

Key Features of the ELP Autism Treatment Early Intervention

Here’s what families can expect:

What to Expect From Our Early Intervention Therapy for Autism

Every ELP journey begins with a detailed evaluation of your child’s strengths and needs. From this assessment, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) designs an individualized program specifically for your child.

Then, one-on-one ABA therapy sessions can begin. Caregiver coaching and involvement are always part of the overarching goal.

Early Start, Brighter Future

Early intervention through therapy can make a lifelong difference. If your child is under the age of 7 and has been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or is showing developmental delays, the ELP may be the right choice for your family. For children over 7, see our Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy page for more information.

Contact 360 Behavioral Health to arrange for a consultation. We accept many types of insurance and can help you understand your coverage for services and sessions. Open the door to a brighter future with tested, proven early intervention support.

Daycare vs. Autism Care Centers

Choosing the right daytime program for a young child is an important decision. At first glance, a traditional daycare and an ABA early learner program can look very similar.
Children spend their days playing, eating meals, interacting with peers, following routines, and building skills that prepare them for school. The difference isn’t necessarily what children do during the day—it’s how those experiences are supported.
An ABA-based Early Learner Program, like 360 Behavioral Health’s, is designed to provide many of the same experiences found in a daycare setting while embedding individualized teaching and support throughout the day.
